MARATHON SWIMS SHORTLISTED FOR TOP INDUSTRY AWARD

Marathon Swims, the ultimate swimming challenge at the London Aquatic Centre, has been shortlisted for Participation Event of the Year in the BT Sport Industry Awards in its very first year.

This prestigious award, in recent years won by parkrun and Prudential RideLondon, recognises excellence and achievement in participation sports events. The BT Sport Industry Awards are hosted at Battersea Evolution on 26 April 2018.

Diccon Loy, Founder of Marathon Swims said “It’s a huge honour to be nominated alongside some excellent, established events. Swimming is a fantastic sport, 4.86 million swim at least twice a month. We designed Marathon Swims to give people the opportunity to challenge themselves over a significant distance in an innovative pool-based event.

“Our first Marathon Swim, held at the London Aquatics Centre, on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, was sold out in less than two months and saw hundreds of people challenging themselves and raising money for our charity partner Cancer Research UK.”

Marathon Swims places are currently available for the two-day event 10 and 11 November 2018. Participants can take on the Marathon 10k, Half Marathon 5k or 1k Challenge. There is also a Team Marathon 10k (for teams of two participants). Entry fees are discounted until 28 February 2018.
